Cosmetic Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)

The nose is one of the most prominent features of a person's face. Men and women who are dissatisfied with the shape or size of their noses can improve their appearance through a procedure called rhinoplasty....also commonly called a 'nose job'.  Nasal reconstruction or rhinoplasty was one of the first cosmetic procedures ever developed and is among those most frequently performed today. Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure in which deformities of the nose are corrected by removing, rearranging or reshaping bone, cartilage, or soft tissues.

Common requests for rhinoplasty surgery are to improve the width of the nose, reduce the size of the  profile of the nose or remove a bump, to give the tip of the nose more definition, or a combination of these.  These conditions may be the result of genetic predisposition, natural causes, or previous external trauma to the face. Both your profile and frontal face views can be altered through rhinoplasty.  Dr. Kayem can be perform this surgery alone, or in conjunction with other procedures designed to relieve nasal obstructions and to compliment your new look. Rhinoplasty is not recommended until a person has reached the mid-teenage years, when growth is nearly complete.  This is usually around the age of 15 for girls, and 17 for boys.
